Dear Airlines for America Team,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to you as a citizen journalist. I am currently researching for an article that explores the implications of the proposed reduction in capacity at Schiphol Airport and its effects on international carriers.
It has come to my attention that Airlines for America may have sent a letter to Minister Madlener concerning this matter. In order to provide accurate and comprehensive coverage in my article, I would greatly appreciate your cooperation in clarifying several points regarding this situation:
- Could you confirm if Airlines for America sent a letter to Minister Madlener regarding the proposed capacity reduction at Schiphol Airport?
- On what legal basis, aviation treaty, or other frameworks does Airlines for America believe its members are being unfairly treated should the capacity reduction proceed?
- Is Airlines for America of the opinion that its members will lose historical slots if the reduction is implemented?
- If so, could you specify how many historical slots are at stake?
- Is it possible for Airlines for America to share a copy of the letter sent to Minister Madlener? If not, could you please explain why?
- Which measures proposed by the Dutch government in the notification to the European Commission does Airlines for America consider to be in violation of the rules of the Balanced Approach?
- Could you elaborate on why these measures are considered contrary to the Balanced Approach, specifically referencing the relevant articles in the European Regulation?
Understanding these aspects will greatly enhance the depth and accuracy of the discussion in my forthcoming article. Thank you for considering my request. I look forward to your response.
