JD Vance Meme Drawn Across Flight-Tracking Maps

Last update: January 29

A prankster has turned a flight-tracking website into a canvas for political satire by drawing a meme of JD Vance, the U.S. vice president, across the sky—at least digitally. Using a technique known as spoofing, the individual injected false aircraft data into ADSBexchange, making it appear as though Air Force One had flown a carefully choreographed pattern that gradually revealed Vance’s face.

By simulating a fictional aircraft at varying altitudes, the prankster caused the route’s colors to shift, allowing the image to emerge piece by piece. The final effect—a stylized portrait—appeared above Mar-a-Lago in Florida, the private residence of former president Donald Trump.

The stunt fits within a broader wave of manipulated images circulating online that target Vance. These altered portrayals exaggerate his features, casting him as “manufactured” or “inauthentic.” Critics interpret the imagery as visual shorthand for accusations that Vance tailors his positions to power, money, or loyalty to Trump—using appearance as metaphor.

On ADSBexchange, the rendered likeness depicts Vance with a bloated face and greasy, curled hair, underscoring the satirical intent. While the flight paths were entirely fictitious, the episode highlights how aviation data—normally used for transparency and safety—can be repurposed for pointed political commentary in the digital age.

On 29 January, the prank was repeated once again. This time, the aircraft with registration 82-8000 was spoofed. The callsign used on this occasion was VANCE2. What the final outcome of this digital “drawing” will look like remains to be seen.
