A second former Kalitta Charter Boeing 727 was delivered to a new owner in Africa. N729CK started its journey at June 26 2025 when it flew from its storage location Oscoda to Gander. After a stop the aircraft continued to Santa Maria. At June 27 the trip continued to Bamako. The trip finished at N’Djamena.
The aircraft was parked at a remote apron, near the military ramp. It was not parked at the apron where cargo aircraft are handled.
After a few days, at July 1, the aircraft flew to Ndola in Zambia. At July 2 the aircraft continued to Johannesburg Lanseria airport. After a stop of two hours the aircraft flew to Johannesburg Rand. It was parked in front of hangar 3. This is owned by company called Valan International Cargo Charter.
A video (with no sound) of the landing of the B727 at Rand was made by the ATC tower controller. Watch it here. Published at the Smoke on Go Facebook page.
It is not known what will happen next.
End of May the sistership N726CK was also flown to Chad. Although the FAA register said the aircraft was exported to Malawi!
This was the second of three aircraft acquired by the unknown company. Boeing 727 N725CK is also expected to be delivered to Africa soon.
