Three IL76’s and an Antonov 26 operate for Haftar out of Benghazi
Since a couple of weeks three IL76 cargo and an Antonov 26 aircraft are flying out of Benghazi to various airports in Libya supporting Haftar forces. Three of the aircraft were parked for months at Benghazi airport with no movements at all.
IL76 9U-ILZ (hex #004000) started its series of almost daily flights at February 4. Flightaware has an overview. It is registered as Z-AAA but that is fake.
IL76 5A-DRS (hex #018000) started a series of flights at February 9.
Number three is IL76 YK-ATD. This aircraft left Syria for Benghazi at December 4. Since the fall of Assad the aircraft remained at Banghazi. At January 9 it started its first domestic flight from Benghazi to Sabha and back. Then the aircraft was spotted for very short durations. Not sure if these were actual flights.
The fourth aircraft is unknown of type but likely Antonov 26B EX-26002 (hex #500000). This aircraft arrived in January 2025 in Benghazi after a delivery flight which started in Kyrgyzstan.
