The Ilyushin Il-76 has an upper deck! I bet you did not know!
Many people know the Airbus A380 has two passenger decks. The Boeing 747 Jumbojet has an upperdeck. A few people know a few L1011 TriStars had a lower deck. But did you know the IL-76 cargo aircraft can be equipped with an extra floor to carry more passengers ?
I noticed this when watching a video of the evacuation of Russian citizens from Kabul. The Russian Air Force sent three IL-76s and an IL62 to Kabul. Some of the people could be seen on the video climbing down from the upper deck when they arrived in Russia.
The upper deck looks like this. It can be temporary installed in the cargo bay and is attached to the rails which are normaly used by a crane. The crane is able to lift small tanks and bring it into the fuselage. The extension was designed to transport troops.
