How to find an airline name using the IATA three letter code
When tracking planes sometimes you might see an unknown three letter code in the callsign. With many airlines starting operations while others stop, finding the airline can be difficult sometimes. There are many websites which publish threeletter codes. However these are mostly outdated.
Two usefull up-to-date sources are the FAA and IATA.
The FAA has various PDF and HTM pages showing airline name radio callsign and the IATA threeletter code. For example this HTML page.
For all FAA publications on threeletter codes go to this page, then to the section called JO 7340.2L.
This FAA document is from February 2026.
IATA has a website with twoletter codes here. The same page can be used to search for threeletter codes of airports.
